I am very proud and happy to introduce you to a new university established in a distinguished town of Istanbul, one of the distinguished capitals of the world, with the mission of "Being a bridge from the past to the future".
Our university, T.R. It was established by the General Directorate of Foundations, with the decision of the Foundations Council numbered 488 and dated 03.11.2009, on behalf of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Han, Sinan Ağa bin Abdurrahman, Nurbanu Valide Sultan, Hatice Sultan, Abdullahoğlu Hacı Abdülaziz Ağa foundations.
The purpose of establishment is primarily to provide the educational services written in the foundation charters of these registered foundations. In the academic units established for this purpose, programs will be carried out in order to raise qualified, knowledgeable, experienced, dynamic, sensitive to the country's problems, with a research spirit, who closely follow international scientific studies, and who are specialized in the required fields, successful culture, language and literature researchers and historians, technical staff, experts, and to enable the training of thinkers, in order to carry the cultural richness of our country to the future. Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University, which took its place in the higher education community in the 2010-2011 academic year, aims to bring together the traditional and the contemporary in social and cultural fields with the Alliance of Civilizations Institute, which will provide postgraduate education in addition to the faculties and programs appropriate to its mission.
A liberal understanding of "producing science and disseminating knowledge" will always be our guide in order to contribute to the future of our country and humanity.
