About Us Software Engineering Department
Software Engineering Department started its education activities in 2021-2022 academic year within the Faculty of Engineering. One of the other departments of the Faculty, The Department of Computer Engineering continues its education and activities at undergraduate, master and doctorate levels that started in 2011-2012.
While preparing the Software Engineering curriculum, it has been our primary goal to take into account project-oriented education, knowledge-based learning, competency-based learning methods and tendencies of the students in technical issues. Our Software Engineering programme nurtures industry-ready graduates full of knowledge, skill and experience. Our project-oriented education approach is performed in each course starting with the technical ones in the first year and until the last semester of the final year courses. Thanks to the project-oriented education, our students acquire the necessary skills and the competencies which satisfy the expectations of the professional life after graduation.
Software Engineering fundamental laboratory infrastructure is ready from the very first day due to the jointly access of laboratories containing high-tech equipment established within the Computer Engineering Department. These laboratories will be the crucial element for our students to acquire the competence specified above.
We would like to announce that when the ongoing construction of our faculty at Topkapı Campus is completed, many brand new laboratories will be established in addition to the existing laboratories.
Our graduates can pursue a graduate level education by enrolling the following programmes conducted by the faculty members of the Software Engineering and Computer Engineering departments jointly:
-Master's Programme (with thesis) at Computer Engineering,
-PhD Programme at Computer Engineering,
I would like to remark that the doors of our faculty members are always wide open to our beloved students to cope with any problems they encounter regarding their courses and other issues whenever they need.
